We are delighted to announce that renowned sustainable energy expert and policy leader Cathy Zoi has joined SPAN's Board of Directors, marking a significant milestone in our mission to enable electrification for all.

Cathy Zoi: A proven leader in clean energy

Cathy Zoi has been a key figure in the advancement of sustainable energy. Some of her many career highlights include:

• ‍Energy Star: Zoi developed and led the EPA's Energy Star program to global recognition.‍
• Climate Action: Zoi was Founding CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection, a non-profit organization founded by Al Gore dedicated to addressing climate change.
• ‍Environmental Policy: Cathy Zoi made a significant impact as Deputy Director for Environmental Policy in the Clinton White House and Assistant Secretary of Energy in the Obama administration.‍
• Smart Metering: Zoi helped lay the foundation for smart metering at the Bayard Group, now Landis+Gyr; the world's largest provider of smart metering services.‍
• Electric Vehicle Infrastructure: Zoi oversaw the development of a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations as CEO at EVgo.

Her ability to help us advance strategic partnerships to accelerate market penetration and get SPAN into more homes plays a pivotal role in the next phase of our development as a category leader in energy management.

A personal connection to home electrification

Cathy Zoi's personal experience electrifying her ranch in Ojai, CA helps paint a picture of the challenges associated with home electrification, and the importance of innovative solutions like SPAN.

“We had a gas leak, which prompted us to go all-electric,” says Zoi. “Navigating permits, specifying new equipment, coordinating with electricians and the utility, and dealing with a maze of regulations—it all took much longer and involved more hurdles than I had anticipated. The SPAN solution wasn’t available to us at the time, but I kept thinking it would’ve been amazing if there was a unified platform to simplify everything, and to help us manage our power use going forward.
