Yes–You, and anyone in your home, will need an account to access and control your SPAN products with the SPAN Home app. You’ll receive an email from your SPAN Installer inviting you to download the app and set up your account as one of the final steps of your SPAN installation.

If you don’t currently own a SPAN Panel, you can visit span.io/span-apps to download the app and experience a simulated SPAN Home for free (no account or login required).

No—there are no costs associated with using the SPAN Home app. SPAN does not require a subscription service, and the SPAN Home app is free to download. SPAN does require a working internet connection in order to control SPAN Panel with your SPAN Home app.

The SPAN Home app requires a tablet or smartphone to use. The app is available for download on iOS and Android devices from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or by visiting span.io/app.

Today, SPAN is compatible with Amazon Alexa. Use Alexa to set schedules and routines, check your battery state, and turn circuits on or off with a simple command. We are always evaluating new platforms and integrations and will continue to add new features to SPAN.

No. SPAN does not control the mechanical breakers in the Panel—only the computer relays behind the breaker, which allow you to remotely turn your circuits off and on. If a physical breaker is tripped, you will need to manually reset the breaker.
